Château Haut-Maillet 2017 – Pomerol

Château Haut-Maillet 2017 – Pomerol

The nose is fruity, a bit closed and offers a fine gourmandize as well as a fine concentration. It reveals notes of cassis, blackberry and crushed wild strawberry associated with touches of ripe small berries, liquorice, zan as well as a very discreet hint of Sichuan pepper (in the background). The palate is fresh, juicy, well-balanced, well-defined, clean and offers a fine acid frame, fullness, a beautiful grain as well as a material very slightly creamy and a bit tight. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy blackberry and ripe/juicy black berries associated with touches of juicy cherry, ripe/juicy red berries as well as fine hints of flowers/cassis bud, liquorice and a hint of cocoa on the finish.
