Château Haut-Beauséjour 2021 – Saint-Estèphe

Château Haut-Beauséjour 2021 – Saint-Estèphe

The nose reveals some minerality, power and a fine creaminess of fruit. There are notes of ripe blackcurrant, small pulpy/ripe dark berries and more slightly fleshy strawberry combined with hints of lily, violet as well as fine pepper, iodine and fine spice. The palate is fruity and shows juiciness, minerality, a certain volume, a nice acidic spine, a pulpy/acidic fruit, a certain power and a good tannic structure. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, tart/pulpy raspberry and, more slightly, crushed redcurrant, combined with hints of blackcurrant, iodine, graphite, as well as hints of tonka bean, toastiness and a subtle touch of vanilla. The tannins are racy. A fine mellowness on the finish/persistence.
