Château Grand Mayne 2016  – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé

The nose is fruity, aromatic, slightly gourmand and offers a good maturity as well as a slight freshness. It reveals notes of ripe/fresh boysenberry, cassis and fresh wild raspberry associated with hints of minted licorice, discreet hints of toasted oak as well as a subtle/very discreet hints of flowers and dark chocolate (in the background). The palate is fruity, juicy, well-balanced and offers a beautiful minerality, a beautiful freshness, richness (but well-balanced!), a good structure, a slight unctuosity as well as gourmandise. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of fleshy/juicy/fresh blackberry, ripe/fresh strawberry and slight notes of raspberry associated with discreet hints of fresh black fruits, hints of dark chocolate as well as slight notes of caramelization and a discreet hint of toasted oak. Tannins are fine and well-built. Good length. There is a hint of coffee on the persistence. Beautiful potential !
