Château Gombaude-Guillot 2010 – Pomerol

The nose is elegant, discreetly tight and offers freshness, a certain richness (but justly controlled), a certain density and a fine straightness. This wine should be decanted. It reveals notes of pulpy/juicy Boysen berry, juicy raspberry, small notes of violet associated with touches of small pulpy/fleshy blue frutis, zan as well as fine hints of sweet spices, sugared mild tobacco and a discreet hint of camphor. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers an acidulous frame, a beautiful juicy/acidulous fruit, straightness as well as a certain richness (full of control), a beautiful fine grain, an aerial side in the approach and dynamism. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy wild blackberry, wild strawberry, small notes of fresh/juicy violet plum associated with touches of crushed redcurrand, violet, lilac as well as hints of mild tobacco, nutmeg, tea, a discreet hint of almond, pepper and a subtle hint of camphor. A wine allying juiciness, freshness and richness in delicacy. A beautiful hint of fine bitterness and salinity on the finish/persistence.
