Château Gazin 2020 – Pomerol

Château Gazin 2020 – Pomerol

The nose is elegant, precise with power but also control and a certain restraint in the complexity. This classy wine! There are notes of black mulberries, pulpy blackcurrant and small notes of morello cherries associated with touches of violet, pencil leads as well as hints of ripe pulpy blue berries as well as slight hints of pepper, nutmeg and a discreet note of sap in the background. The palate is fruity with freshness and acidity. There is tension and accuracy but they are restrained and controlled. This wine is nicely sunny and radiant in terms of fruit, depth and density. We have notes of pulpy and juicy black cherries, pulpy raspberries and small notes of morello cherries associated with touches of violet, sense of place (local biotope) as well as hints of graphite or even pencil lead, of cardamom as well as a hint of small blue fruits and a discreet roasted note. We also perceive fine hints of toasted hazelnuts, almond and a note of blond tobacco and sweet spices. The tannins are racy, elegant and there is a mellow finish. Little by little a discreet hint of almost minty sap appears in the background. There is a fine chewiness and sapidity on the lingering finish.
