Château Garance Haut Grenat 2018 – Médoc, Cru Artisan

The nose is fruity and offers power, a fine grain, a small incisive side and a fine flowery side. It reveals notes of crushed strawberry, iris, fresh violet and small notes of blackberry associated with touches of racy minerality, small fresh fruits as well as a hint of peony, grey pepper and discreet hints of toasted. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, very discreetly tight and offers an acidulous frame, juiciness, a small fat, a certain suavity as well as energy, freshness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/fresh cassis, crunchy raspberry and small notes of iris, peony associated with touches of small crunchy red berries, a racy minerality as well as fine hints of zan, toasted, nutmeg and fine hints of chocolate (in the background). Tannins are well-built and very discreetly firm. Good length.
