Château Fougas – Madoror 2017 – Cotes de Bourg

The nose is fruity, a bit tight and offers a fine gourmandize as well as intensity. It reveals notes of blackberry, raspberry, Timut pepper and fine touches of cassis, redcurrant jelly associated with subtle hints of toasted, sweet spices as well as a discreet hint of flowers (in the background) and subtle hints of vanilla (in the background). The palate is fruity, well-balanced, slightly straight/linear and offers tension, fullness, fat, a good definition/structure, precision as well as a fine juiciness and fresh/juicy fruit. On the palate this wine expresses notes of cassis, black cherry and more slightly blackberry associated with hints of juicy red berries, zan, spices as well as subtle hints of toasted, coffee and vanilla. Tannins are well-built and slightly grainy on the finish. Good length.
