Château Fonroque 2017 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé

Château Fonroque 2017 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé

The nose is aromatic, fine, elegant and offers a small complexity as well as a fine power. It reveals notes of cassis, crushed boysenberry and fine touches of raspberry/redcurrant associated with a hint of liquorice, black pepper as well as fine touches of toasted. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, straight, a bit tight and offers juiciness, a beautiful freshness, a nice fat as well as fullness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy blackberry, cassis and more slightly crushed raspberry associated with a hint of cassis bud, lily as well as a subtle touche of zan, mild tobacco and a very discreet hint of spices. Tannins are fine and slightly tight. There is a fine hint of cocoa and a very discreet hint of roasted almond on the finish.
