Château-Figeac 2022 – Saint Emilion Grand Cru, 1er Grand Cru Classé

Château-Figeac 2022 – Saint Emilion Grand Cru, 1er Grand Cru Classé

Nice fresh nose (beautiful freshness!), dense, pulpy and offers a beautiful maturity, some maceration/infusion side, a lot of elegance, a nice gourmandise, generosity as well as a beautiful delicacy. We find notes of small, bright black fruits, iodized minerality and small notes of bright/fresh strawberry associated with touches of cornflower, hints of bergamot, infusion/maceration, toasted hazelnut as well as a fine hint of sweet spices, toast and a very discreet hint of graphite. The palate is nicely mineral, nicely fresh, balanced and offers tension, gourmandise, a fresh/tangy frame, lovely energy, harmony, fullness, a lovely graphite side, complex as well as a discreet tight side. Nice contribution of press wines! On the palate this wine expresses notes of fresh/pulpy blackberry, fresh/juicy purple plum and more slightly of crunchy blackcurrant associated with touches of small fresh/pulpy blue fruits as well as fine almost roasted hints (in the background), almond, toasted, graphite/camphor and coffee/chocolate. Lovely powdery, sapid, gourmand and velvety tannins. Nice persistence.
