Château-Figeac 2011 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé

The nose is elegant, fresh and offers a nice power in delicacy, a little airy side, depth, a certain little straightness as well as complexity. There are notes of fairly ripe cassis, fairly ripe blackberries and more slightly cornflowers associated with small touches of small red fruits, pepper as well as hints of humus, undergrowth and an imperceptible hint of orange. The palate is fruity, balanced and offers juiciness, a nice freshness, a nice minerality, precision, a fine aerial richness, fat, subtlety, fullness while freshness as well as good definition. A nice salinity side, patinated. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy blackberry / blackberry, fairly small ripe red fruits and more slightly ripe / juicy redcurrants associated with fine touches of undergrowth, as well as a subtle hint of gravel / mineral, to very discreet saline hints, a hint of caramelization and a subtle hint of pepper (in the background). Tannins are precise, racy and structuring. Nice persistence and palatability. A side a little closed and “inviting”.
