Château d’Yquem 2009 – Sauternes, 1er Grand Cru Classé Supérieur

The nose is fruity, elegant, gourmand and offers a beautiful finesse full of power/richness, a beautiful definition, freshness, a fine incisive side as well as a lacy aspect of the grain. It reveals notes of candied lemon, crystalized/crunchy flat peach and small notes of fresh mandarine associated with fine touches of honey, ginger and almond/spices.  The palate is fruity, well-balanced, elegant, fresh and offers a beautiful fresh frame, fullness, finesse, a beautiful suavity, a beautiful definition as well as gourmandize. On the palate this wine expresses notes of ripe/candied lemon, crystalized flat peach and small notes of mandarine associated with fine touches of pineapple, kumquat/mango, a hint of fresh litchee (in the background) as well as very fine hints of almond and spices. Good length. A beautiful persistence. There is an imperceptible hint of vanilla flowers on the persistence.
