Château Durant-Laplagne 2018 – Puisseguin Saint-Emilion

The nose is fruity and offers a fine freshness and concentration. It reveals notes of ripe cassis, ripe blackberry and small notes of blueberry associated with touches of violet, cornflower, liquorice stick, very fine hints of cardamom, pepper as well as a subtle hint of black tea. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a fine acidulous/juicy frame, juiciness, a small straightness as well as a small freshness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy blackberry, juicy cassis and small notes of juicy strawberry associated with a touch of juicy raspberry, fine hints of cornflower, juicy blueberry, liquorice stick as well as tonka bean and a discreet hint of coffee (in the background). Tannins are fine, firm and spicy. Good length.
