Château du Tailhas 2021 – Pomerol

The nose is spicy, peppery and reveals a fine, powerful and very tight grain. There are notes of pulpy wild blackcurrant, concentrated black berries and more lightly ripe (almost roasted) red berries combined with fine touches of sweet spices and a subtle hint of sweet blond tobacco (in the background). The palate is fruity and offers minerality, tension, acidity, volume, a certain straightness, a little infusion on the palate and a fine almost roasted touch. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of fairly ripe blackberry, fairly ripe black cherry, almost roasted, and more lightly pulpy/sparkling berries, combined with a hint of graphite, light tobacco, nutmeg, and a subtle, almost sappy edge (in the background). The tannins are well managed. Fine sapidity on the finish/persistence.
