Château du Pouey – Réserve du Vigneron 2016 – Madiran 

The nose is fruity and offers a slight power as well as a small complexity. It reveals notes of crushed cassis and small notes of blackberry associated with touches of blueberries, raspberries, a hint of cherry as well as discreet spices / toasted hints and an imperceptible touch of vanilla in the background. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, well-built and offers a beautiful definition, a beautiful freshness, roundness, a good volume, a fresh frame as well as precision. On the palate, the wine expresses notes of fleshy blackberries and fleshy / juicy cassis combined with small touches of fresh / ripe berries, cherries as well as discreet hints of flowers, spices / toasted hints, very discreet hints of mocha and an imperceptible hint of gray pepper in the background. Tannins are fine, well-built, elegant and structuring.
