Château Destieux 2021 – Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé

The nose offers concentration as well as a fine infusion. There are notes of pulpy blackberry, fleshy wild strawberry and more lightly liquorice/zan combined with hints of ripe wild red berries, a touch of bigarreau cherry, fine hints of bergamot, grey pepper as well as a subtle camphor and almost a discreet herbal edge. The palate is mineral and reveals juiciness, concentration, infusion and tension. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy raspberry, creamy strawberry and more slightly blackcurrant combined with hints of lily/purple, black tea as well as fine notes of purple plum, almost herbal, liquorice, toasted almond and a very discreet hint of mocha (in the background). The tannins are sapid and supple.
