Château de Sales 2021 – Pomerol

Château de Sales 2021 – Pomerol

The nose is fruity and reveals power, concentration, a fine blackness/infusion and some bitterness reminiscent of cocoa. There are notes of boysenberry, wild dark berries and slightly roasted cherry combined with hints of violet, herbal tea/bergamot, hints of ripe red berries and fine spice and pepper. The palate is fruity and offers juiciness, minerality, good definition, positive bitterness, freshness, tension, tightness, energy, acidity, roundness, smoothness, balance and darkness. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy wild blackcurrant, small, fairly ripe wild dark berries and, more slightly, roasted bigarreau cherry, combined with hints of infusion, bergamot, violet, hints of zan, cocoa, as well as a discreet hint of mocha, graphite, a fine varietal hint, black pepper (in the background) and a subtle vanilla note. The tannins are mellow.
