Château de Meursault, Les Trois Journaux 2020 – Beaune-Grèves Premier Cru

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is fragrant, fresh and floral: it expresses refined notes of field flowers, rosehip, cornflower and cherry blossom, associated with subtle herbaceous notes (dried mint, cherry leaf, cut thyme, leaf of laurel). Then, the wine offers aniseed notes (licorice which develops towards star anise), sweet spices (clove, nutmeg, pink pepper) and crunchy red and black fruits (red cherry, raspberry, wild strawberry, blueberry, wild plum). On the palate, the wine offers juiciness and freshness. It expresses notes of crunchy bigarreau cherry, red currants, fresh strawberry, raspberry, roasted red cherry, combined with menthol notes, licorice, spices (black pepper, cumin, cloves), as well as ‘with touches of toasted oak, sweet coffee, roast meat, bouquet garni and dried flowers (cornflower, wildflowers). The tannins are firm, a little rough, but enveloped and not drying thanks to ample fruitiness and a good level of acidity. The finish is long, with a pleasant smokiness.
