Château de Laborde – Les Corbeaux 2016 – Gevrey-Chambertin, 1er Cru

The nose is fruity, structured and offers concentration as well as a beautiful finesse of the grain. It reveals notes of black plum, wild blackberry and small notes of wild raspberry associated with touches of incense, Cuben pepper, cornflower as well as very discreet hints of nutmeg (in the background). The palate is fruity, well-balanced, elegant, precise, fine and offers a beautiful definition, a beautiful mineral frame, suavity, delicacy, a fine tension, a acidulous/juicy frame as well as a beautiful fat (all in delicacy). On the palate this wine expresses notes of black cherry, fleshy/juicy violet plum and small notes of fleshy/juicy wild raspberry associated with fine touches of cornflower, liquorice, racy minerality as well as a discreet hint of incense and Timut pepper. Tannins are well-built. Good persistence. There is a very discreet hint of cocoa/grilled and a hint of iodine minerality on the persistence (bring appetence/gourmandize). Beautiful job on the matter and the finesse of the grain!
