The nose is fruity, elegant, racy and reveals intensity with finesse, power, precision and delicacy. There are notes of bright wild blackcurrant, cherry and more lightly violet combined with hints of strawberry as well as fine blue berry, liquorice, a discreet hint of lilac, sense of place/chalk and a subtle hint of pepper. The palate is fruity, balanced, nicely racy and offers juiciness, accuracy, lovely energy, freshness, a little tension and depth. On the palate this wine expresses juicy/pulpy blackberry, blackcurrant and more lightly red berry (raspberry, redcurrant) notes with hints of blueberry, crushed blueberry, hints of bourbon vanilla, toast, chocolate as well as fine hints of salinity/iodine and a discrete hint of toasted/crushed almond. The tannins are elegant, racy and sapid. Good length. Very nice persistence. A very discreet varietal touch at the back of the palate.
