Château d’Aydie – L’Origine 2014 – Madiran

(70% Tannat, 30% Cabernet Franc) The nose is aromatic, fresh as well as relatively powerful and fine. It reveals notes of fresh cassis, flowers (cornflower, lily) associated with fine notes of blackberry, red fruit as well as a discreet note of Sichuan pepper and tea. The palate is fruity, gourmande, sleek, delicate and offers a nice acid frame, a fine juiciness, a good structure as well as a nice and silky matter. On the palate this wine expresses notes of blackberry, cassis and juicy Quetsche plum associated with slight notes of raspberry / red berries / cherry as well as discreet notes of vanilla oak and a discreet hint of hazelnut. Tannins are fine and (very) slightly firm. Good length.
