Château Dauzac – Cuvée Cabernet Sauvignon 2021, Franc de pied – Margaux

Château Dauzac – Cuvée Cabernet Sauvignon 2021, Franc de pied – Margaux

The nose is pretty and pure, elegant, racy and reveals a certain richness in delicacy, depth, a nice freshness, power in finesse, a little creaminess as well as a nice aromatic palette. There are notes of boysenberry, violet and slightly morello cherry combined with hints of fresh lily, sap and a fine touch of pepper, a subtle hint of saffron, cherry blossom and a discreet, almost iodine-like touch. The palate is nicely juicy, fresh, elegant, gourmet, tense, delicate with some linearity. There is a nice airy side to the palate, a nice acidic structure, some crunch. Nice purity in its expression, nice freshness and finesse. A silky, fresh square. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fresh/juicy cherry, tart/crisp berries with a hint of lily, cherry blossom and a hint of racy minerality, a smoky, almost cocoa-like quality and a subtle hint of saffron (flower) and tea and a very discreet tinge of star anise and saltiness. A nice airy quality on the palate. The tannins are precise and supple.
