Château d’Armailhac 2014 – 5ème Grand Cru Classé, Pauillac

The nose is fruity, silky, racy, powerful and offers a nice finesse. It reveals notes of crushed blackberry, crushed cassis and slight notes of small red fruits, spices combined with a slight hint of tobacco, a hint of zan as well as a discreet hint of Cuben pepper and a discreet hint of toasted oak / vanilla. The mouth is fruity, juicy, straight, well-balanced, fresh, nicely crunchy (fleshy / crunchy fruits), relatively depth and offers a nice roundness / suavity, an acid frame and purity. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy blackberry, cassis, blueberry and slight notes of strawberry, blackberry combined with notes of chocolate, caramelized oak and a fine / discreet hint of sweet spices and Vanilla Bourbon. The finish is suave. Good length.
