Château Croix de Labrie 2018 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

The nose is elegant, fresh, fruity, captivating and offers a beautiful complexity, a beautiful finesse of the texture / grain as well as a very beautiful delicacy and power. It reveals notes of boysenberry, ripe wild blue fruit and small notes of fleshy strawberry combined with fine touches of flowers (violet, blueberry, a subtle hint of iris), hints of tobacco, slight hints of mentholated licorice as well as discreet hints of spices and Sichuan pepper. A “multi-layer” wine that requires work in the glass to reveal itself. The palate is fruity, mineral, fresh, well-balanced and offers a beautiful definition / precision / finesse, gourmandise, a beautiful touch / texture, complexity, tension, a beautiful finesse of the structure, finesse in the power, a great fleshy / juicy fruit, a mineral / slightly acidulous frame as well as a beautifully fine and very discreetly tight grain. Very beautiful power but full of finesse. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy blackberry, fleshy cassis and small notes of blue fruit associated with touches of blueberry, chocolate, caramelization as well as very discreet toasted hints. Very beautiful grain on the finish / persistence. Good length and beautiful persistence. There are slight hints of chocolate, caramelization and crushed almond on the persistence.
