Château Croix de Labrie 2015 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

The nose is fruity, racy and offers power (well-controlled), a certain richness, straightness and concentration. It reveals notes of wild blackberry, Cuben pepper, cassis and small notes of red fruits (strawberry, berries) associated with woody touches, sweet spices, cardamom, gray pepper (after aeration / work in the glass) as well as fine / subtle hints of Bourbon vanilla, a subtle hint of menthol / flowers and an imperceptible hint of blueberry. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a nice freshness, straightness, an acid frame, a fine juiciness, a nice structure, a beautiful precision, a beautiful finesse, complexity as well as a beautiful and velvety matter. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fresh cassis, fresh blackberry, wild red berries and wild strawberry combined with an imperceptible touch of blueberry, touches of caramelized oak / vanilla, sweet spices, chocolate as well as a subtle hint of gray pepper. Tannins are fine, straight, elegant and structuring. Good length. There are a hint of caramelization on the finish and a very discreet touch of menthol / licorice on the finish / persistence. The wine should be poured into a carafe. Beautiful harmony!
