Château Couhins 2018 – Pessac-Léognan

The nose is precise and offers a small power, a fine grain as well as a certain intensity full of finesse. It reveals notes of wild blackberry, grey pepper, small notes of violet associated with touches of fleshy wild strawberry as well as very discreet hints of camphor/pencil lead and discreet hints of tonka bean. The palate is fruity, juicy, mineral, well-balanced and offers a fine acidulous frame, suavity, fullness as well as juiciness, a fine tension and a fine fat. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy cassis, juicy blackberry, small notes of violet associated with touches of small crushed red fruits, lilac as well as hints of chocolate, tonka bean, tobacco and discreet hints of vanilla pod (in the background). Tannins are well-built. Good length.
