Château Cos Labory 2019 – Saint-Estèphe 5ème Grand Cru Classé

Château Cos Labory 2019 – Saint-Estèphe 5ème Grand Cru Classé

The nose is racy and tightly wound. The wine benefits from being decanted. There are notes of ripe wild blackberry, redcurrant and more slightly racy minerality combined with fine hints of fresh/ripe wild berries as well as fine pepper, a delicate hint of liquorice and an imperceptible hint of bourbon vanilla. The palate offers minerality, freshness, tension, good definition, a certain gourmandise, a fine creaminess as well as a nice acidic backbone. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of creamy strawberry, juicy/tart redcurrant and more slightly fresh/tart plum combined with a touch of blackcurrant, racy minerality, graphite, a subtle saline touch and a very discreet touch of good bitterness and vanilla. The tannins are mellow. Good length. Nice acidity and positive bitterness on the finish.
