Château Certan de May de Certan 2020 – Pomerol

On the nose it is aromatic, fresh, discreetly tight, offering ample juiciness well as harmony. It reveals the notes of bright boysenberry, pulpy blueberry and slightly crushed strawberry associated with bright red currants, violet, lily, blue plum as well as hints of black tea, fresh vanilla, toast and an imperceptible touch of nutmeg. On the mouth it is fruity, precise, excellence, classic in a noble sense and offers suavity, juiciness, a nice juicy/fresh/bright fruit, gourmandize, tension, a little stretch, a discreet tightness, depth, harmony and fullness. The wine express the notes of pulpy/bright blackberry, juicy/fresh cassis and more lightly acidic/pulpy plum associated with touches of red berries and more lightly tangy/pulpy plum associated with small red fruits as well as hints of violet, chocolate, toasted hazelnut, fine hints of vanilla, a discreet hint of green cardamom, a subtle hint of saffron. A touch of tonka bean/caramelization on the finish/persistence. The tannins are precise, smooth, elegant and polished. A beautiful aromatic persistence.
