Château Capbern 2017 – Saint-Estèphe

Château Capbern 2017 – Saint-Estèphe

The nose is fruity, a bit tight and offers a fine juiciness, power as well as a good structure. It reveals notes of black cherry, blackberry and more slightly cassis, black berries associated with fine touches of liquorice, racy minerality as well as subtle hint of flowers, spices and a very discreet hint of Cuben pepper. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, very slightly powdered and offers a good definition, fat, a fine unctuosity, freshness, an acid frame, a fine gourmandize, precision, a fine tension as well as fleshiness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of blackberry, fleshy cassis and fine touches of wild raspberry, wild red berries as well as fine touches of caramelized oak, a very discreet hint of nut, racy minerality, flint, liquorice stick, tea and an imperceptible hint of flowers (in the background). Tannins are fine, elegant and very slightly firm. Good length.
