Château Branas Grand Poujeaux 2020 – Moulis-en-Médoc

Château Branas Grand Poujeaux 2020 – Moulis-en-Médoc

On the nose it is fruity, elegance and a nice definition of the fruit, a fine grain, a certain controlled richness and freshness. It reveals the notes of ripe blackberry, pulpy/creamy strawberry and slightly small pulpy fruits /fresh raspberry combined with hints of crushed cassis, blueberry, fresh pulpy small fruits as well as hints of licorice stick, flowers, sweet spices and a very discreet hint of sappy. The palate is fruity, balanced, precise and offers a mineral framework, juiciness, gourmandize, a good definition, a richness in freshness/contained, an airy character and depth. The wine express the notes of pulpy blackberry, creamy cassis and more slightly juicy/tangy blueberry associated with hints of raspberry, fresh violet, hints of tonka bean, caramelization, tobacco as well as discreet hints of roasting and an imperceptible hint of sappy (in the background). The tannins are precise and mellow. Good persistence.
