Château Bonalgue 2016 – Pomerol

The nose is aromatic, very fresh, slightly fruity and offers a slight richness/gourmandise. It reveals notes of fresh/ripe blackberry and slight notes of fresh/ripe raspberry, small fresh/ripe wild berries associated with hints of minted licorice, slight toasted hints as well as a discreet roasted hint. The palate is fruity, juicy, nicely balanced and offers a beautiful mineral frame, a good structure, acidity as well as gourmandise/slight unctuosity on the middle of the mouth. In the mouth this wine expresses beautiful notes of fresh blackberry and slight notes of fresh/fleshy cassis, raspberry associated with hints of fresh red berries as well as a hint of licorice and a very discreet hint of dark chocolate on the persistence. Tannins are fine and well-built. Good length and good persistence with slight notes of sweet spices.
