The wine has a ruby colour of medium intensity. The nose is reserved at the beginning and requires aeration. It expresses notes of ripe red and black fruits (Morello cherry, wild strawberry, blackcurrant, raspberry coulis, wild blackberry, blue plum, blueberry), fresh herbs (peppermint, crushed mint leaf, chopped rosemary sprig), flowers (violet, lily, peony, cornflower) and sweet spices (cinnamon, liquorice, clove) with a fine touch of roasted meat and smoke in the background. On the palate, the wine offers round, juicy, expressive and varied flavours. It expresses notes of ripe and roasted red and black fruits (fresh Morello cherry, roasted red cherry, raspberry coulis, crushed strawberry, red plum, blue plum, blueberry, wild blackberry), sweet spices (white pepper, cinnamon, liquorice, nutmeg), dried aromatic herbs (peppermint, sage), flowers (violet, blueberry) and a delicate smoky meaty note at the end. The finish is long, juicy, fruity and refined, refreshed by a fresh and salivating acidity. The tannins are fine-grained and the texture is smooth and delicate. An elegant, yet structured and powerful wine, with good complexity and ageing potential.
