Château Bernon Bécot 2022 – Puisseguin Saint-Emilion

Château Bernon Bécot 2022 – Puisseguin Saint-Emilion

The first nose expresses smoky notes (even of roasted meat), spicy notes (nutmeg, white pepper, vanilla in the background), with lsight herbaceous and floral touches (peppermint, violet), associated with tangy fruity notes. blackcurrant, black plum, blueberry, bigarreau cherry, crunchy strawberry and raspberry, as well as a touch of dark chocolate in the background. In the mouth, we find roundness, suppleness and delicacy. The flavors are ripe, juicy and concentrated, but not overripe, and delicately spicy. The texture of tannins is velvety and fine, without astringency. The wine expresses flavors of blackberry, morello cherry, blackcurrant, crushed strawberry, raspberry coulis, crème de cassis and crunchy black plum, combined with touches of mint chocolate, cinnamon, toasted vanilla and violet. Beautiful persistence on freshness (acidity level is average, but balanced with the profile of the wine) and juiciness of fruit. Good work on the tannins and wood (we feel the woody notes especially at the end of the mouth, but they are enveloped and balanced by a beautiful fruity substance). Elegance and power – a wine to age with very good potential.
