Château Belle-Vue 2020 – Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel

The wine has a deep ruby color. The nose is elegant, finely spicy and woody, with lots of freshness and concentrated fruity aromas. It firstly expresses a pronounced minty note, complemented by aromas of licorice, nutmeg, cloves, crushed coriander seeds, toasted vanilla and chocolate. We also find gourmand and juicy fruity notes: wild strawberry, morello cherry, roasted red cherry, redcurrant jelly, fresh blackcurrant, blueberry, wild plum, as well as a fragrant floral bouquet (violet, cornflower, lily) and a hint of torrefaction (toasted hazelnut). The palate is gourmand, enveloping, with a slight sweetness, while remaining fresh and refined. It expresses the flavors of wild strawberry, creamy blackcurrant, roasted red cherry, fresh morello cherry, raspberry coulis, as well as minty chocolate, licorice, cloves, toasted vanilla, seeds of coriander, violet, cornflower and lily. There is also a fine touch of blackcurrant leaf which adds a lovely freshness to the bouquet. The tannins are structured, but silky and sapid. Beautiful crunchy acidity and a lingering and gourmand finish. A generous wine, but refined and elegant.
