Champagne Michel Gonet – Blanc de Blancs 2011 – Mesnil Sur Oger, Grand Cru 

The nose is mineral, elegant, racy and offers a good finesse of the grain as well as a very fine power. It reveals notes of fresh lemon, fresh zests and small notes of green apple associated with touches of limestone, firm/fresh lime, fine hints of litchee/exotic fruits (in the background) as well as very discreet hints of elderflowers/lemon flower, toasted, almond and an imperceptible hint of vanilla. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, racy, well-built and offers a good definition, a beautiful finesse of the grain, elegance, a mineral frame, a small straightness, a good volume, a beautiful touch as well as a beautiful precision. The effervescence is fine and elegant. On the palate this Champagne expresses notes of ripe/fresh lemon, ripe/fresh green apple and small notes of litchee/quenette associated with fine touches of elderberry flowers, fine hints of fleshy quince as well as discreet hints of orange blossom., brioche and a very discreet hint of almond on the finish/persistence.
