Chaâteau Rayne Vigneau 2019 – Sauternes Premier Grand Cru Classé

The nose is elegant, fresh, racy and offers a fine finesse of grain, delicacy, a captivating side as well as richness (well mastered / balanced). It reveals notes of quince, crystallized lemon and small notes of ripe / juicy kumquat associated with touches of yellow peach in syrup, white flowers (peach flowers, apricot flowers, vine flowers) as well as fine hints of honey, fresh hazelnut and a very discreet hint of toasted / an imperceptible hint of vanilla. The palate is fruity, gourmand, elegant, unctuous (but also slightly syrupy), beautifully balanced and offers freshness, a beautiful finesse of grain, delicacy, deepness as well as an acidulous frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of jammed quince, crystallized lemon and small notes of apricot jam associated with small touches of crystallized mandarin zest, roasted pineapple, crushed yellow apple as well as slight hints of nutmeg, toasted and an imperceptible hint of vanilla. Good length and persistence. Presence of a subtle hint of white flowers / elder flowers on the persistence.
