Caymus Vineyards – Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 – Napa Valley

Caymus Vineyards – Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 – Napa Valley

The nose is fruity, powerful, elegant and offers a slight concentration. It reveals notes of crushed blackberry, crushed cassis and crushed raspberry combined with slight touches of gray pepper, black cherry as well as discreet hints of dry local forest soil (olive tress, grove …), licorice as well as subtle toasted touches and an imperceptible hint of tobacco. The palate is fruity, mineral, well-balanced and offers a small freshness, a slight suavity, a small gourmandise, a good definition, a slight fresh frame, a good structure, a beautiful crunchiness, precision, as well as a slight finesse. Beautiful delicacy and certain purity of the fruit. On the palate this wine expresses notes of cassis, blackberry, wild strawberry and small notes of raspberry associated with fine hints of black cherry, small black berries as well as discreet hints of licorice, gray pepper as well as very discreet hints of vanilla, tobacco and dry local forest soil. Tannins are fine and structuring. Good length and persistence. A beautiful wine! (2020+)
