Cave du Château de Chénas – Cuvée Vieilles Vignes 2018 – Moulin-à-Vent

The nose offers concentration, power as well as a fine deepness. It reveals notes of violet plum, cassis cream, crushed strawberry, small notes of liquorice associated with fine touches of violet, sweet spices and a very discreet hint of hazelnut. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers an acidulous frame, juiciness, a racy minerality, a well-defined fruit as well as a very discreetly tight grain. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy/juicy violet plum, cassis cream, small notes of acidulous Boysen berry associated with small touches of strawberry, acidulous cherry as well as discreet hints of nutmeg, spices, a very discreet hint of hazelnut and an imperceptible hint of chocolate (in the background). Gourmandize in the finish.
