Cavallotto – Barolo DOCG 2009, Castiglione Falletto

Cavallotto – Barolo DOCG 2009, Castiglione Falletto

The nose has some power and concentration. There is graphite, saffron and then a slight hint of sweet spices combined with a discreet hint of bourbon vanilla bean. The palate is fruity with freshness and juiciness. The wine is full-bodied and rich with notes of juicy raspberries, fairly ripe cherries and a hint of violets. There is also dried blueberry with hints of graphite, saffron and a hint of vanilla and toasted almonds. The palate is tightly wound in its tannic structure. Good length.
