Cascina Bruni – Batistot 2011 – Barolo

The nose is aromatic and offers a fine intensity and a small concentration. The wine needs to be served in carafe. It reveals notes of ripe redcurrant, ripe cassis and small notes of cherry associated with fine touches of flowers, discreet hints of garrigue as well as subtle / discreet hints of zan, racy minerality, sweet spices and an imperceptible hint of tobacco (in the background). The palate is fruity, juicy, well-balanced, beautifully fleshy, fine, elegant, racy and offers a beautiful grain, fat, an acid frame, tension as well as a fine tension. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy blackberry, crushed wild strawberry and small notes of raspberry associated with discreet touches of cassis / elderberries, sweet spices as well as slight hints of garrigue, tonka bean, almond and a very discreet hint of local forest soil. The finish is slightly powerful. Good persistence.
