Casa E. di Mirafiore 2012 – Barolo

Casa E. di Mirafiore 2012 – Barolo

The nose is fruity, gourmand and slightly intense/powerful. It reveals notes of cherry candy and wild redcurrant associated with slight notes of wild cassis, boysenberry as well as small notes of Bourbon vanilla, toasted and licorice. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, silky and offers a beautiful mineral frame, a sight acidity (in the background), tension, finesse as well as precision. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of fleshy/juicy wild strawberry, crushed/ripe wild redcurrant and small notes of juicy cassis, boysenberry associated with touches of grahite, tonka bean as well as a discreet hint of gray pepper, an imperceptible hint of coffee and a very discreet hint of salin minerality. Tannins are fine and well-built. Good persistence. The finish is slightly gourmand.
