Camille Giroud 2020 – Savigny-Lès-Beaune Aux Clous, Premier Cru

The wine has a pale ruby color. The first nose is reserved, but opens up after aeration. It expresses juicy notes of ripe red and black fruits (wild strawberries, raspberries, elderberries, Garriguette strawberries, red currants, blueberries, blackberries with a hint of Morello cherry jam). There are also elegant notes of fresh and dried flowers (peony, fresh lily, dried cornflower), fine spicy (licorice, clove) and chocolate hints (chocolate with mint, powdery notes of bitter cocoa). On the palate, the wine has a nice concentration, roundness, a supplness and juiciness: it expresses notes of fresh red and black fruits (blackberry, Morello cherry, blueberry, wild strawberry, red cherry), a sweet hint of cream blackcurrant and Morello cherry jam, as well as the freshness of peppermint, liauorice and elegant floral notes (rose petal, lilac, cornflower). We also feel a slight note of leather in the background. The tannins are perceptible, but silky. Nice length in the mouth, with freshness, salivating acidity and a pleasant peppery touch on the finish.
