Calicem 2021 – Saint-Émilion Grand Cru

Calicem 2021 – Saint-Émilion Grand Cru

The nose is fruity, racy, fresh, very discreetly tight and shows a fine pungency. There are notes of ripe wild redcurrant, wild blackberry and, to a lesser extent, juicy blackcurrant, combined with hints of violet, lily and fine hints of morello cherry, toast, zan and discreet green pepper. The palate is fruity, sharp and reveals juiciness, acidity, freshness, a nice dynamic character, salinity (in the background), acidity, a fine crunch, a certain concentration, density and elegance. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fresh blackberry, small bright black berries and more lightly fresh blueberry combined with hints of zan/ liquorice, black tea, lilac as well as hints of cocoa/ cocoa bitterness as well as fine hints of toasted hazelnut, tea, light hints of fresh orange peel and sap. A discreet hint of roast/grill on the finish/persistence.
