Bricco Grilli – Battaglio – Barbaresco DOCG 2018, Neive

On the nose it is fruity, complex, finely peppery and offers good definition. It reveals notes of crushed strawberry, Bigarreau cherry and more slightly Quetsche plum associated with touches of cornflowers, licorice as well as a hint of cardamom, hazelnut and vanilla. On the palate it is fruity, balanced and offers good freshness, minerality, good definition, a mineral structure as well as a certain gourmandize. Presence of a certain richness but everything in control. The wine expresses notes of pulpy cherry, pulpy raspberry and more slightly cornflowers associated with touches of lilac, nutmeg as well as hints of toasted hazelnut and a subtle hint of cardamom. Good length and nice length.
