Borgogno 2012 – Barolo

Borgogno 2012 – Barolo

The nose is fruity, elegant, fine, delicate and offers a beautiful power (full of finesse), a sligh richness as well as a small charming side. It reveals notes of blackberry, violet, crème de cassis associated with small notes of crushed wild strawberry, redcurrant candy as well as slight touches of red/fleshy cherry, hints of toasted oak, licorice stick, cardamom as well as a subtle hint of caramelization and a slight hint of undergrowth/mushroom in the background. The palate is fruity, fine, elegant well-balanced, nicely silky and offers a slight fleshy, a very beautiful definition, a fine acid frame as well as a very slight juiciness. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of very ripe wild strawberry as well as small touches of toasted oak, spices, coffee, dark chocolate and subtle hints of cardamom. There is a very discreet hint of undergrowth and an imperceptible hint of black tea in the background. Tannins are elegant and slightly firm. Good length. Wonderful, suave, aromatic and slightly powerful persistence.
