Blason d’Issan 2021 – Margaux

(46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 52% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot) The nose is fresh, fruity, elegant, racy. There are notes of crushed wild blackcurrant, raspberry, blackberry and more lightly red berries combined with hints of racy/steely minerality as well as fine hints of violet, cardamom, graphite as well as fine hints of cocoa, toast. The palate is fruity and reveals juiciness, acidity, good definition, gourmandize and acidity. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackberry, fresh/acidic blackcurrant and, more slightly, pulpy raspberry, combined with small touches of cocoa, racy minerality, as well as fine hints of cocoa, toasted almond, a subtle touch of camphor, and a delicate hint of eucalyptus (in the background). The tannins are soft and well conducted. Good length. Sapidity and a fine chewiness on the finish/persistence.
