Battaglio 2014 – Barbera d’Alba Superiore

The nose is aromatic, elegant and offers power as well as a good finesse of the grain. It reveals notes of Cuben pepper, flowers and small notes of leather associated with touches of cherry, ripe/crushed red berries as well as hints of blackberry, zan, tobacco, a very discreet hint of black pepper (in the background) and an imperceptible hint of chocolate (in the background). The palate is fruity, mineral, well-built and offers juiciness, a beautiful definition, elegance, finesse, a small unctuosity, a small concentration, richness as well as a beautiful matter very finely tight. On the palate this wine expresses notes of black cherry, plum and small notes of wild raspberry associated with touches of small wild berries, rose as well as hints of liquorice, zan, chocolate, discreet hints of toasted (in the background) and a very discreet hint of toasted almond (in the background).
