Baron de Brane 2009 – Margaux

Baron de Brane 2009 – Margaux

The nose is elegant and offers substance, some richness, a fine intensity, a nice finesse of grain, a fine discreet/restrained side. We find notes of ripe raspberry, cherry and more slightly nutmeg combined with delicate touches of mocha, lily, a fine hint of Madagascar pepper, and discreet hints of graphite and undergrowth. The palate is fruity and reveals freshness, minerality, acidity/juiciness, good definition, linearity, elegance in its tension, precision, good energy, acidity and precision. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy raspberry, tart/fresh red berries and, more slightly, blackcurrant, combined with hints of vanilla, green cardamom, fine undergrowth and toastiness. The tannins are supple and mellow.
