Babich – Black Label – Pinot Noir 2014 – Marlborough – New Zealand

The nose is fruity, relatively fine and relatively gourmand. It reveals notes of cherry, cassis cream and plum combined with floral notes (iris, rose) as well as a note of raspberry and a discreet touch of nutmeg. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, racy, fluid, relatively fat and offers a slightly creamy matter, a small minerality (in the background) and harmony. On the palate this wine expresses notes of blackberry, Quetsche plum and slight notes of cassis cream associated with touches of strawberry jam, raspberry, flower (violet, lilac) as well as slight touches of sweet spices and a discreet note of mocha. Tannins are fine and well-built. Good length and persistence with notes of toast and a touch of toasted bread.
