AXR – Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 – Napa Valley

The nose is elegant, aromatic and offers a flowery character as well as a certain controlled power. It reveals notes of raspberry, violet, small notes of fresh lily associated with touches of small red berries as well as fine hints of cassis, a discreet hint of kirsh cherry, eucalyptus, spices and a subtle hint of Madagascar pepper. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, full of finesse/control and offers juiciness, an acidulous frame, gourmandize as well as tension and suavity. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy redcurrant, violet, iris, small notes of juicy/fresh strawberry associated with touches of juicy/fresh plum, cassis as well as fine hints of cherry blossom, nutmeg, a discreet hint of eucalyptus, an imperceptible hint of toasted almond and fresh mild tobacco. A delicate flowery hint in the finish, stretching the finish. Tannins are precise and elegant. Good length.
