AXR – Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 Reserve – Napa Valley

The nose is fruity, harmonious and quite elegant. It reveals notes of crushed blackberry, cassis and slight notes of crushed fleshy strawberry combined with a subtle touch of sap, slight touches of toasted oak, a very discreet hint of liquorice, wood, dark chocolate / tonka bean as well as a very discreet / imperceptible hint of violet (in the background), caramelized oak and Sichuan pepper (in the background). The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a slight juiciness, a slight gourmandise, a slight acid frame, a slight complexity, harmony as well as a beautiful and silky matter. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy blackberry, crushed cassis and discreet touches of toasted oak, jammy wild strawberry combined with slight hints of juicy / ripe redcurrants, slight touches of caramelization, toasted oak as well as a very discreet touch of Bourbon vanilla and an imperceptible hint of cardamom (in the background). Tannins are elegant, fine and well-built. A beautiful potential!
